Case Study

Triangle Fire Systems receives £9m investment from BGF.

The deal.

We advised the shareholders of Triangle Fire Systems, one of the UK’s leading installers of fire sprinkler systems, on its £9m investment from BGF.

Founded in 2006 by three brothers (Colin, Nigel and Steve Chantler), Triangle Fire Systems specialises in the design, installation, and maintenance of sprinkler systems in domestic, commercial and retail buildings across the UK. With a particular focus on residential developments and high-rise apartments, the business has grown rapidly delivering revenues of £24m in 2021 and emerging as the industry leader in a fast-growing market.

We are delighted to announce this funding from BGF which will help us to grow our reach and expand our services across the residential and commercial property market.

Our role.

We took the time to consult with the shareholders to understand their individual and collective objectives and carefully explained the pros and cons of the various available options which resulted in us being engaged to secure private equity funding to deliver partial cash out and growth capital for the business.

We ran a highly targeted process drawing on our deep heritage in private equity to introduce a select number of parties that we knew would be interested in the sector and deal dynamics.

We worked with the shareholders and advised on the optimum time to go to market and assisted with the preparation of short and insightful marketing documents. This ultimately resulted in BGF being selected as the preferred partner and we ensured that the due diligence process was focussed and efficient and resulted in the deal being completed within three months of agreeing terms.

The investment from BGF will enable the company to expand its team of 100 specially trained staff, establish new service lines and make acquisitions.

What our client said.

“We are delighted to announce this funding from BGF which will help us to grow our reach and expand our services across the residential and commercial property market. As a family-run enterprise, it was important to us that our investor understood this dynamic, and BGF’s track record of successfully scaling family-run businesses means that we can continue to grow in a way that works for us.

Clearwater Growth were selected as our adviser as it was clear they had strong knowledge of our sector, a great track record and excellent relationships with the financial investors most suited to us. We look forward to working with them again in the future.”
